Role Timer

The Timer is responsible for timing Table Topics, speeches, evaluations, pauses, and breaks. The Topicmaster informs the Timer when the lights should be turned on for the Table Topics, the Toastmaster provides times for the speeches. and the General Evaluator provides times for evaluations. The Awardsmaster presents trophies at the end of the meeting.
At the meeting:
- Explain your role when you are introduced, demonstrating the use of the light signals to inform speakers of how long they have been speaking.
- Time speakers throughout the meeting, and “minutes of silence” when called upon to do so.
- Give a Timers report when called upon to do so. Report the exact time for speakers in minutes and seconds.
- Watch the time during the break and inform the Chair when a few minutes remain.
- Announce winners and present trophies at the end of the meeting: Best Table Topics, Best Evaluator, and Best Speaker (in that order).
